So today was my first full day in Christchurch and in fact New Zealand as well! I kind of did sleep in a bit, but think i was just so excited cause i got to sleep in a room by myself and even better it was in a double bed!!! I've not slept in a double bed for well over a year, so as u can imagine there was some serious sprawledge going on lol!

So once i'd managed to get up i went and met Sarah for lunch in the wee lane in the picture. She did hav to go back to work for a couple of hours so i went to the Canterbury Museum which was quite interesting and passed the time. I then went and met Sarah when she finished work and we went punting on the River Avon! Dont really know how they can call it a river when its about a foot deep lol! However it was nice just to lie back and watch the world go by!

After that we went home for a quick change before meeting a group of young engineers, similar to what we hav back home really. I managed to wangle only paying member price for the Bruery Tour, which was pretty good. It was a bit of a boring tour but i did manage to get a free 6 pack of beer and i dont even like it! We also got numerous free drink at the burery and Sarah won a raffel prize of some chocolate almonds which r apparently a big thing in NZ and they do taste pretty good! After that a few people went home but some of us stayed out and visited a few more pubs. We went to the Dux which was pretty good but also a bit cold for my liking, in fact NZ is pretty cold in general, none of this 41 degrees we were getting in Sydney! Anyway after that we moved to a place called Sol Square which has a lot of pubs in it and also a Mini, some bikes and musical notes on the walls which i must admit is a bit weird!! We went to a cutsey wee pub called the Cleaners Cupboard which was pretty cool and decorated in a kind of old fashioned living room style!
