Waking with yet another hangover, we gathered our things, went to check out, and book a ferry to Koh Tao. Despite knowing we had left the booking until late, we were surprised and s***ting it when we found out that every ferry was booked. Ah.
We scoured the streets, asking every tour office and company, each giving the same answer. One alternative was to pay 20,000 baht for a private speed boat. Owch. Fortunately, I bribed one man an extra few hundred baht and we had a place on the 5.45 ferry! Hurrah!
We spent the remaining time chilling by the pool, before heading off to the port. The ferry hit major waves, and the boat rocked violently. I felt sick. Over an hour later, we had arrived. Sharing a pick up truck with a few Brits, we headed to Sairee Central and our hostel. That's right, hostel. I was scared.
Never had stayed in one before, I had low expectations. But I didn't realise we would have to make the bed?! Outrageous. Plastic mattresses and shared sex bathrooms? I'm glad this was for only one night. And that all of our bunk mates were either British or American.
We went for dinner and a few beveraginis by the beach, my photo can't convey the beautiful atmosphere of Fizz bar. Comfy bean bags, low tables, orange hue lighting, crashing waves, I soon fell asleep! Time for bed I think!
