We woke up early and travelled to the airport for our flight to Chiang Mai. Once at the airport and about to board, a Will made a discovery.
"s***. Where's my passport and boarding pass?!"
Oh brilliant!
We ran frantically around Bangkok airport, checking the cafe where we sat, the toilets, information desks and staff. Accepting the fact that we may not make this flight, I explained all to the lady at the gate. Then something wonderful happened! Apparently someone had handed in his belongings, and we were able to fly. Decency of humankind had been restored! Hurrah!
The flight was short, and we were soon in Northern Thailand. Our hotel was plush with working aircon and hot water (commodities that were now considered luxuries) but we were eager to explore the city. We visited the famous night bazaar, the biggest in Thailand (and probably Asia). It stretched over half the city, conquering streets and alleys, surrounding golden Buddhist temples.
We had dinner, and explored more, buying handmade goods from Thai handicraft artists. I even splurged (£20!) on a canvas print of an elephant. How the f*** I was going to get it home was beyond me.
After our shopping, we headed to a bar called Zoe in Yellow, or something similar. Grabbing a few beveraginis, we chatted to a few German lads and began an insanely messy game of ring of fire. Travelling tip: always carry playing cards!
To describe the photo here, dad had recently sent me a selfie, and it was a Wills idea to drunkenly recreate it. Successful I think!!
