On our return trip to Toronto, we stopped at a beautiful beach. Because these beaches are on the Great Lakes, they ain't as cold as the sea, which is great. So played our usual throwing of an American football, which I think that by the last day I have mastered. Nancy continued to teach Zoe how to swim, which is soo cute :)
So we dropped everyone off and said a final goodbye to Megan. Everyone else arranged to meet later at Global Backpackers Village for a few drinks. So arrive at our hostel, Planet Traveller again, to find the aircon in our room is s***, which would have come in really handy in 40 degree heat. But we got ourselves ready and headed to meet the other guys. Drank lots of cider, Magners woo hoo, chatted about an a amazing trip, gained a rose (which lived in our bathroom for two days) and said emotional goodbyes Nancy, Ronja and the rest.
Lets just say the next day, we died!! Hangovers from hell, which meant we lay in bed until 12, up for free breakfast (of course we had to attempt it if its free) which ended up in the toilet bowl and then back to bed we went until 3 o'clock. At this stage we decided we better get up and attempt to do something with the day,so we went for a walk through the city to find out where the bus station was (for the megabus to Niagara the next day) and to have a look at the CN tower. Also stopped for a young coconut on the way, chopped open by 4 stabs with a very sharp knife by one of the workers, and a straw in toe. Didn't help the hangover, so Kenny got the pleasure if finishing it :)
The next day was a very early start, 6.30, far too early for travellers, to get breakfast and make it to the bus station for Niagara Falls. Met Steff there and off we went. Arrived at 9.30am and bus back wasn't until 10pm, so we took it easy slandering around. Once again, Niagara Falls is absolutely beautiful. Different from the Canadian side tho, a lot more touristy but fun. Started the day with a Starbucks, then walking along the ways of the falls, trying to get the best pictures. Next we decided to go a walk Behind The Falls. So we get our lovely ponchos on and off we go. Elevator down down down, a walk through some wet tunnels and we arrive. I had forgotten just how powerful the falls are and how much spray they gave off. We got a slight spray. But always interesting to read the stories of the falls.
Got done lunch and hung around for a while, then when we got bored, headed for the Maid of the Mist. O my word! We had such a laugh and got absolutely drenched!! The poncho had holes and the water just went down the front of it anyways. Literally splashes to the face, but it was that funny, we just couldn't stop laughing.
Spent the rest of the day chilling, went to the amusement part and had a look round. Got myself a Canada t-shirt, watched the dinosaurs and volcano blow fire at the mini golf; there was def enough to keep ya entertained. So we hung around waiting on the light show, when it gets dark. Enter net said around 8.30, so we rush back to make sure we don't miss any of it, and of course it hasn't even started. So it starts slowly with one colour then another then another added, but unfortunately by the time we has to leave, it still hasn't got into full swing as it wasn't dark enough. Saw a bit but told them to look at the postcards for what it ends up like. All in all, a great day finished off with a few dime inks with Kevin and Steff.
The next day, we got ourselves all packed up and went for one last trip around the city. On recommendation of daddy, went to the Hard Rock Cafe; def not disappointed. Had Eminem, Will. I. Am, Elton John, Madonna things and the food was amazing. Last meal in Toronto then onto the airport for the next adventure :)
