What can I say...
The drivers are crazy
The size is crazy
The lights are crazy
The attitude is crazy
The gambling is ridiculously crazy
And the company... Crazy ass!
Crazy three days, four nights with Kenny, Frankie and Gail.
Our shortest drive yet, it only took 2.5 hours to get there, but once again we find ourselves on a dreaded freeway, Kenny checking out his window to see if I can cross lanes, 'go on ahead!'
Zoom!! A biker... Good thing I had a double check. Needless to say we we were relieved to get to the hotel, Circus Circus. So as Kenny waited in-line to check us in, I told him not to tell Frankie we were here until we'd at least had a shower; 5 nights camping=feeling and probably smelling yucky. But in a hotel we later discovered it took 15 mins to walk from one end to the other, who did we bump into... Frankie! Couldn't have intentionally found him if we tried. Great to hear a good N.Irish accent again and see his big smiley mug, and got help with our bags which was a plus. As soon as we were showered and unpacked I.e. Clothes threw everywhere because we had the space to, it was straight to the machines. Started with playing virtual blackjack, me not having a clue what I was doing but having fun all the same. But 4 beers later (I rarely drink beer) I'm feeling tired and drunk, so not a late one that night. But it was AMAZING to get into a bed again, heaven! Lesson for tomorrow night; don't take a free drink every time it's offered.
Going to Vegas on a budget is slightly more restricting than if you come ere for a holiday with a big of cash, but thank to the 'French Angels', we were able to have some fun. The next few days passed in a blur really, consisting of Slots of Fun and the Rivieria Casio mainly, a few trips down the strip with our Deuce passes; Bellagio, Mirage and Treasure Island shows, a good Outback Steak Dinner, combined with fast food and alcohol. We considered going on day trips but the furthest we got was Old Vegas; it didn't help that we stayed up half the nights and didn't get up more before lunchtime. With Kenny being luckier on the blackjack tables than me, he played his $20 while I bought a handbag with mine; old habits never go away. Every so often I still have to give in :)
Four nights was certainly enough; enough eating crap, drinking and blowing money. We had fun and it was certainly an experience but we prefer more beach and less baking while walking the streets; it was hot hot hot
