Well I am now back where it all began!! Sydney! I got back on Wednesday night. I was going to stay in Hobart until Friday/Saturday but I'd done everything I wanted to do and didn't think there was any point in hanging around as the weather wasn't great!
While in Hobart, I went to Wineglass Bay which was really nice and it was an ok day when I went there. It was a long trip to get there though, we had to walk to get to the lookout and there were a few older ladies on the trip who didn't realise this and couldn't do the walk so they went back! Pretty silly really as they paid for the trip but didn't even see Wineglass Bay! The walk wasn't even too bad it was a bit steep in some places but easy enough. We got to the lookout and the view was really nice, Wineglass Bay was really pretty. We could have walked down to the beach but most of us headed back and went to Honeymoon Bay which was really pretty and another little bay where you could see Wineglass in the distance. It was a good day but just really long!!
I went up to Mount Wellington, the view over Hobart was amazing but I'd gone on a bus which was $25 return which was a lot of money really but it was the only way to get up there unless you had your own car.
I also went to Port Arthur, where all the convicts were sent. I didn't really think I would enjoy the day as I thought it was going to be really historical but it was a really good day. We went on a boat trip which showed us where the boys prison was, just in the middle of the sea really then to the isle of the dead! I then did a walking tour which told us a bit about what happened and what all the buildings represented. It was actually a really pretty place and if you were in prison it wouldn't be too bad a place to be! Although I'm sure it wasn't as pretty back then! I then went to a Tassie Devil farm, I was really looking forward to seeing the Devils, they were actually a lot cuter than I though they were going to be. We saw them getting fed, which was horrible they were given Kangaroo, with the fur still on!! The noise they made eating it was horrible you could hear them crunching on the bones! Urgh! We then watched a bird display. We had to hold our a coin and one of the birds fly on your arm and picked it up and took it back to the trainer then once it had collected everyones money it flew back and gave it back to us although when it came to me it landed on my head and dropped the money on my head!! Cheeky bird! It was a really warm day one of the hottest so far but when we left the Devil farm the heavens opened and you couldn't even see in front of you it rained that much!
I also visited the Cadbury Factory!! I knew it wasn't going to be exciting as they don't do the tour around the factory anymore but as I'd been to the one in England and New Zealand I thought I should go! It was really good! As soon as you walked in you got given a free bar of Dairy Milk! One of the big blocks, then were shown how they make the chocolate and given more chocolate then we watch a video and tried more chocolate! It was great. I went in to the chocolate shop and it was amazing! It was so cheap, the big bars of chocolate were $2.40 and they are normally about $4! single bars were only $1!! They had lots of christmas stuff in as well, I wanted to buy so much but didn't no how much I could fit in my backpack! I only spent $20 but got loads! I had plently of room in my backpack in the end so could have bought more! he he I had the most amazing Hot Chocolate there! Instead of chocolate powder they used crumbled up chocolate like a flake but had milk, dark and white chocolate then just mixed it with hot milk! It was so good! It was raining that day but that was the day I was due to leave so I was happy I was leaving!!
So I'm back with Peter and Gayle now, they came and picked me up from the airport on Wednesday which was really nice of them as I didn't land until 10.15pm! I haven't really done much since being back its actually really nice to be spoilt!! Someone else cooking your dinner and having home cooked food!! Peter took me up to the Blue Mountains one day which was really nice and I went shopping with Christina today.
I head off to the City tomorrow to meet up with Jess for a few days then Mum and Terry arrive!! woo hoo
