We flew from Melbourne to Sydney on the 27th, got to our hostel and then went straight out to look for accomodation for the next six weeks. We couldn't find anything cheaper than the one we're in at the moment so we're staying there. Our hostel at the moment in right in the middle of the red light district, there are loads of prostitues and strip joints outside. Its actually quite insane but hilarious at the same time.
The next day we typed up our CVs and then went round a lot of agencies and shops handing them out. The agencies we couldn't find we emailed. For the next few days we went into some agencies, had some interviews and shopped for work clothes. Kate has a job for four days next week.
On Saturday we walked up to the Sydney Opera house through the Botanical Gardens. It was the middle of the day but there were bats in the trees! It was very surreal. The Opera House was cool, we didn't go on a tour as we are going to get tickets for a show there at some point. When we were there we saw a sky writer, writing BOSE in the sky over and over again. We didn't really get it, i think he may have been practicing. We caught the train to Central Station and went to Paddys Market, had some ice cream. Almost as nice as Rossi's ice cream. Then we wandered back to the hostel.
Yesterday we were going to go to Bondi beach, but it looked a bit cloudy in the morning so we didn't go. Instead we went up the observation tower and on the ride that they had in there. It was very Disneyesque! Then we did a bit of shopping.
Today Kate has gone off to work and I'm still looking for a job.
