We got a Greyhound bus from Surfers to Byron Bay, it only took about an hour. After checking in to the hostel we walked to the most easterly point of the Australian mainland. It was only a four day working week on 23rd-27th April as it was Anzac day on the Wednesday.Anzac day is pretty much the same a Remembrance Day back home, but they make a much bigger deal out of it.
