It was only a four day working week on 23rd-27th April as it was Anzac day on the Wednesday.Anzac day is pretty much the same a Remembrance Day back home, but they make a much bigger deal out of it. On Anzac day we went to Sydney Aquarium. In the way there we saw alot of war veterans and people in sailor type outfits. The aquarium was cool. There was even a tank with one clown fish and you had to find Nemo. Awesome.
On the Saturday of that week we went to the Blue Mountains on an organised tour thing. It was cheaper than we expected it to be. After spending an hour picking up everybody, we drove to a place where there were wild kangaroos. The tour guide scared me by telling me there were snakes in the grass. I was not happy about that! I think there were actual snakes but I didn't see any. We had lunch at a town I've completely forgotten the name of, then we had pancakes in an American diner. After that we went to the Three Sisters, which is basically three rocks and we did a bush walk there. It was down loads of steps (more like ladders), then a 5km walk. We got back up the mountain on the worlds steepest railway (luckily we didn't have to walk!) and then went back to the hostel. We had Thai takeaway that night.
On the Sunday we stayed in the hostel most of the day and then went to Olympic Park to catch a glimpse of people on the red carpet for the Australian MTV VMA's. From a distance we saw Pink, Fergie, Good Charlotte, Dirty Sanchez and a load of Australian people we hadn't heard of. We did meet some real life Paparazzi, which is the most excitement we got!
After work on the Monday we went to see Pink live at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. It was an awesome show, she did all kinds of acrobatics in the air, whilst singing! It was unbelievable. The support act were The Androids.
Tuesday after work we went to the cinema and watched Hot Fuzz, it was nice to see an English film, especially with all the westcountry accents!
Friday night we went to the Opera House to see Mark Watson, who is a Welsh comedian. We were in The Studio, which is one of the smaller rooms in the Opera House. He was really funny and it was a good night. We also ate fish and chips sat by Sydney Harbour.
Saturday we went to Manly beach on the ferry. Manly is where Home and Away is filmed. You can tell because it looks similar, even though it looks just like any other beach. We were going to go out in the evening, but I had a splitting headache so we didn't.
On the Sunday we went to the Powerhouse Museum. On the way we walked through a festival for Buddha's birthday. The museum was cool.
Have been at work so far this week Its our last week here. Tonight we're going to the cinema to see Because I Said So. We're also going to have burgers from the nice burger place we went to the other day.
