We never went to the pub quiz in the end, it was too busy. We would have had to stand up to do it, which seemed a bit stupid. So we went to a Britich pub, the Elephant and Wheelbarrow (very random name!). Had a few drinks (I had Coke - only mentioning it due to the number of comments about how much I drink - Kate had Malibu and Coke).
The next day we went on a tour to Phillip Island. The bus didn't leave until 12.30 so in the morning we went into town to set up our bank accounts. The first stop on our tour was a winery. Kate was in her element. She tried all the wine and was slightly tipsy (though she wouldn't admit it) I didn't have any as I don't really like it and it was mid afternoon. A few minutes down the road we went to an animal sanctuary, there were Koalas there, though we weren't allowed to touch them (wouldn't want to - apparently they all have clamydia - i think thats spelt wrong). Also saw Kangaroos, a baby Wallaby, two Tasmanian Devils, Emus, Alpachas (who were insane and kept biting if you offered them food). Also some ponies and donkeys. We then went to a surfing beach with some amazing waves. The surfers kept falling off so it was amusing. We had free pizza at a nearby restaurant. We were still hungry after it so we had ice cream and I had cake. I am hungry most of the time lately! Then we went to see the Penguins! We stopped off at The Nobbies, basically two rocks, one flatter and one taller. The main point of the day was to see the penguins coming out of the sea and up the beach as they do every night. It was pretty awesome and the penguins were absolutely adorable waddling up the beach!
On Friday we went on the Neighbours tour! We got on our Neighbours bus and drove to the high school, we couldn't go in as it was an actual school, but we did have our picture taken outside with a sign they brought along with them. Then we went to the studios, again we couldn't go in. But we saw the sets of Grease Monkeys, the Garage and a bus stop that many people leave from. Then we went to Ramsey Street, it was awesome but very small! The tour guide was talking and then up the road came Dr Karl. It was quite bizzare. We met him and got a photo and autograph. That was the end of the tour. It was after lunch when we got back so we didn't do much for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening we went to see Music and Lyrics at the cinema, which was hilarious. We both had the song in our heads for days afterwards.
On Saturday we went to Queen Victorua market, which was massive. We were quite restrained with the spending, though I did buy a jumper (though I don't have many with me and its coming up to winter so I think its justified). After that we went to Luna Park in St Kilda. Its an old fashioned amusement park, opened in 1911. It was really cool, though all the rides are spinny and we had to stop for ice cream halfway through. There was also a Prison Break ride, where you had to walk through a maze with smoke everywhere and there are people in there jumping out at you to scare you. It was actually terrifying. We were going to go out in the evening but then we never did (I really don't know whats wrong with us!)
Sunday we went to Melbourne Gaol, finally using the free city circle tram (I don't know how we managed a week without using something that is free!) The Gaol was pretty cool except for the models of people that were in some of the cells. They were creepy. We also saw the gallows where they hung Ned Kelly and we tried on some of his armour. We went back to the hostel for lunch and then went up the observation tower. There was also a little film afterwards. It wasn't that great and it had an annoying "Melbourne is great song" I can't even remember what we did in the evening.
Monday we went to the Melbourne museum. It was pretty good for a museum, as it was interactive and we also got to see the old kitchen of number 26 Ramsey Street and Scott and Charlenes wedding cake inside the fridge.  In the evening we met up with Kerri and Fiona to go to Neighbours night. We got there though and it had been cancelled! Well the three cast members who were supposed to be there weren't coming. However we did get to see Dr Karls band for $10 and we met the guy who played Darcy. We also had the most amazing pizza before we went in, and it was cheap! All good.
