Kevin and Joannie on tour
Christmas. As our holidays progress we seem to sleep longer and longer and today it was 9 am before we even moved.
We had a look on Facebook to see what our friends and family were doing and most of them seemed to be settling down for Xmas lunch!
We had a very festive breakfast of bread, cheese, tomato and avocado with hand squeezed juice and peanut M&Ms!
Then we headed 150 kms north to Torres del Paine. In many ways the pictures speak for themselves. The landscape is draw-droppingly beautiful. The one incident we did have was by Lago Sagiamiento where we were waived down by a car. A car had turned over and was in a ditch by the side of the road. One person had managed to climb out but we could see another inside. Eventually we had enough of us to turn over the car and then two people emerged, very shocked but thankfully unhurt. Someone called help and we were soon on our way. Soon after we saw a Nandu with three chicks and Kevin spotted a fox.
Suddenly the mountains appeared with weird twisted shapes. These weren't the famous views of the Torres but dramatic sure enough.
Soon we saw the tower which are so iconic of the region and of Chile. It being late we didn't actually enter proper the national park but decided to come back tomorrow to admire the beautiful, majestic landscape.
Back home a very slow oven cooked a Xmas dinner of Nut Roast, plum and port gravy, roast carrots and potatoes, asparagus and a slightly cakey Yorkshire Pudding. Feliz Navidad!
