Kevin and Joannie on tour
A
very quiet day. We ate breakfast in the
camping area. There were cold showers in
the amenity block.
We walked a few blocks into town and asked people where a
laundry was. Today was a work day but
the place was still very quiet. We found
the laundrette which was a private house and dropped it off. It will be ready by midday tomorrow.
It is so warm here so we were glad of the shade of the trees
at the campsite. A few admin type jobs
were done, like paying bills at home and moving money around. It’s miraculous these things can be done on a
phone the other side of the world.
We read amongst the trees all afternoon. Kevin is reading the last book of a trilogy
by Stephen King – End of Watch and is enjoying it very much. Joan is reading Alice by Christina Henry, which is loosely based on Alice in Wonderland.
It’s such a cruel book she’s not going to finish it.
The trees on the campsite are on an irrigation system and
every so often the watering is turned on.
Seemingly the whole oasis is run on such systems.
Dinner was gnocchi with veg, chick peas and tomato
sauce. It’s hard to do "cordon bleu" with
a single ring to cook. I don’t think the
campsite cats are impressed by us being vegetarian either. They have spent the day midden raking the
bins but won’t find anything interesting from us.
