Sunday 2nd August - Stonehenge We got ourselves organised and caught the 8.42am Double Decker bus to Stonehenge. The theory was that because it was Sunday and hot it was going to be a day for half of Wiltshire was going to be there! Sat upstairs to get a view of the countryside and as far as you could see over the rolling hills were fields of wheat, some just harvested but most just ready to be. Saturday 1st August Salisbury We packed up and started off on our drive from Maidstone to Salisbury. Most of the trip was on motorways but part of the A30 was being extended and although we had three lanes going our way the car in front of us only had about 600mm on either side before going into the adjacent lane. You had to concentrate somewhat as even at 50 mph it was somewhat concerning as the three lanes were packed with cars, trucks and a few caravans...

Friday 31st July pm Rochester The sun was out and the temperature had risen by the time we got to Rochester. Finding a park wasn't easy but we manage to get a pay and display at the Cathedral. I feel like a beer said Jannie and it took no encouragement from me to find a pub called the Eagle and out into the garden bar we trekked Beers and sammies and a chat to a couple of Americans from California about what they had seen and we were on our way to the Roches...

Friday 31st July am Chatham and Upnor Castle We had our breakfast and ordered poached eggs. Sometime later the lady who served us came into the breakfast room and called out "Poached Eggs" Yes that's us. Well today we can't do poached eggs I'm sorry. We said that they should get a new chef. Oh it's something to do with the eggs!!!! We headed for Chatham and being not too far arrived for a coffee. This place also has a High Street that is pedestrians only....

Thursday 30th July pm Hastings We were quite close to Hastings so drove down to the coast of the English Channel to have a wee look. The beach was quite wide and all pebbles but there were people sunbathing and swimming as it was 21 deg today. We parked the car almost right at the edge of the beach at one of the many display and parks that we have come across. Haven't parked anywhere yet that hasn't cost us.
