Off to the zoo! The place is huge...too difficult to walk it all...thankfully they have a shuttle bus to take you to particular stops. There was a Visitors Centre right across the road from the hotel where we were able to buy City Passes which included 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure and 1 day at Sea World and Universal Studios. We also bought separate tickets for the San Diego Zoo. Had another big day's drive today from Las Vegas to San Diego. On the way, we stumbled across Calico Ghost Town which is a fairly authentic historic western town on the site of an old silver mine. We enjoyed it a lot although stopping there did set us back a few hours.We eventually arrived in San Diego late in the afternoon and checked in to our accommodation at the Holiday Inn on the Bay. Thankfully, it was a bit cooler today, We had breakfast at the buffet and then drove down to Mariposa Grove to see the giant Sequoias and took in the views from Glacier Point. On the way back from there, there was a bit of excitement...a bunch of cars which were stopped in front of us had just seen a bear with 2 cubs but we were about 60 seconds too late. Disappointed to miss out, we were lucky enough to spot another bear when we got back to the valley and man...

Today, we left San Francisco via the massive double decker Oakland Bay Bridge and drove up to Yosemite National Park where we stayed in a tent cabin at Curry Village along with hundreds of locals on summer vacation.
