Planned to spend the day at Parc Mont Royale as there were a few points of interest, or so we were to believe. We had to get the metro and then a bus, but it turned out we needed to catch two buses and where we got off wasn`t where we aimed to be!
We walked to St.Joseph`s Oratory built on the mountain in the heart of Montreal, where the exterior was far more impressive than the interior. I thought we`d have a lovely day exploring the park along with this building, but it wasn`t within the park grounds at all. As we were ontop of the mountain I thought we`d get a really great view of the city, but was extremely disappointed as the city was actually a dull sight - just like any other city.
On our way back we stopped off at a place called Sherbrooke as this kept popping up on the map and catching our eyes. Didn`t know what to expect, but we stumbled on a few really quirky terrace houses that were built in the style of castles, with turrets and focal windows; they were beautiful and well worth the stop.
I couldn`t believe just how fat the pigeons and squirrels are over here! The squirrels were so tame that it got to the point that they were responding to Amy`s little kisses and I thought they were actually going to pounce on her!.....It reminded me of a scene in the film Tha Lampoons Christmas Vacation!
Today was extremely cold; around 2 degrees. Within the past couple of days the weather has turned and seems to be heading for an extremely cold winter. There has been forecasts of snow, but as of yet we haven`t seen any.
