Hey Petals, Koh Samui is glitzy, tacky and beautiful. we were so excited on the boat journey over here as this is our first of the Thai islands so we had no idea what to expect. The days of this place being a backpackers paradise have long gone, posh boutique spa hotels now line the beach front...pushing skint, sunburned travellers out of the picture! Still, we made friends with a waiter who let us use the sunbeds belonging to one of the big resorts, we were able to lounge in style pretending that we are loaded enought to afford the $150 per night it costs to stay there ;)
