Sabai Dee! Vientiane (the Capital of the Lao peoples Democratric Republic!) is quiet at the moment, apparently the government have regular clamp downs on late night drinking...then change their minds soon after. Just our luck to arrive when nothing is going on! Our guesthouse has an eleven thirty curfew which has done wonders for our budget! We have spent two nights here, and have taken full advantage of the cocktail happy hours, several long island's...

Hey petals, After a fantastic few days exploring Luang Prabang we booked a mini van to take us five hours south to Vang Vieng. The journey was horrible at times...speeding around a winding mountain road feeling very sick indeed! The scenery was beautiful though, rolling hills and mountains with small villiages dotted by the roadside. It was interesting to catch a glimpse of rural Lao life as we drove by...women cooking, children waving and shouting '...

Hey petals! Took a two day slow boat to get here from Huay Xie, rock hard wooded benches and not very much leg room! They kept packing people onto the boat, and when it was chock full they loaded on...a motorbike...sacks of grain...and about ten crates of beer Lao :) The trip was long and really hard on our bums but the scenery was beautiful.
