S: We got to Hervey Bay and decided to walk along the pier there. It used to be a working pier and it used to be 1100m long so the big ships could off load their cargo. At that moment it stood at 800m and was going to go under construction to renovate it so as not to lose any more of it. Whilst walking out on the pier we saw a massive Pelican on a lamp post, it was brilliant. I never realised they were that big, it was waiting for the fisherman to slip up. We met a young boy who was fishing with his dad and grandpa and he took great delight in telling us what to do, and then he pulled up his line and it had 5 fish on it. He clearly loved his fishing and what a lovely day to spend with his family. We found a campsite, and this was Georgie's night for "Come Van with me".
J: Georgie decided to cook us risotto and we had some bubbles to drink (provided by Marika, Georgie didn't get that on the budget), this felt more like 'glamping' to me than roughing it in a camper van. Unbelievable Georgie pulled off chicken risotto on the budget and it was lovely. We headed to an Irish pub that night and strangely on a Tuesday after a long bank holiday weekend the place was empty and after only an hour there they said they had to close. In the morning I cooked a full English breakfast for everyone, and because we had missed the whale watching season we went on our way.
