S: So we drove to Airlie Beach but we had heard that if you stay on the road there it was an instant $500 fine. So we headed back inland and ended up parking in a car park behind some shops. Not probably the most exotic place to park but it did the job and we actually slept very well, until the butchers woke us up at 5am lol. We headed to the port and got onto the Derwent Hunter, a 90ft schooner boat, which was first used for exploring by scientists and then finally changed into a tourist boat. It was beautifully made of wood and you could imagine being a lady of leisure on there as it was all inclusive apart from alcohol. They needed volunteers for putting the sails up (This is why you shouldn't travel with these guys, they volunteer for everything - there I was ready to lay down and sun bathe, Oh No we had to put the sails up). It was actually good fun and I'm sure me and Georgie were the best team lol. So we went to snorkel at the first site, Langford reef and it was a little disappointing as it didn't have very good visibility and it was really cold (yes, I think we have been spoilt on the dive boat). Yes, you can laugh but even Marika who had come straight from England was cold, just because it's Australia it can be still be cold lol. Although the guys did laugh at me when I face planted the sand getting out of the boat!!
J: The next snorkel site, Bali High and Langford Spit was a long beach stretching out into the sea and was unbelievably beautiful. It was a pinch yourself moment standing on a white sand beach in the middle of Whitsunday Islands. We got back into the water and this time the reef was much better but the winner was some very tame Turtles, we managed to swim and free-dive with them, it was a fantastic moment. Then we set sail again to the main land and enjoyed a couple beers and cards until they requested us to give feedback sheets, a whole A4 sheet and they said be creative and they will be added to the online log and if they standout go to a memory board. So creative went along the lines of different animals of the sea telling cheese jokes, the skipper liked it so that's the main thing lol. When we got back, we went to a public shower on the coves sea front and we all had a cold shower in our swimming gear with soaps & shampoo's, the people walking past thought it was comical.
