S: So after a quick morning swim at Babina Bolders we set off for Josephine falls, which are ranked as the most beautiful waterfalls in Queensland and have been in lots of TV commercials. We decided not to go for a swim this time. We eventually got to Mission beach and tried to find a suitable place to spend the night.

J: When we got to Mission Beach the cheap place to park the camper-van was full up, and the only other one in the town was expensive. So we had a chilled out afternoon on the beach before finally parking in a very small car park, which was between the road and the beach, it wasn't subtle when we were parked next to the "NO CAMPING" sign. But then other travellers followed our lead and suddenly it was full of travellers all cooking dinner. I set up our tables and chairs on the beach and it was the most beautiful place I have ever sat to eat a simple pasta meal. White beach as far as you could see and coconut trees hanging over like they are trying to drop the coconuts into the sea. Once again Australia surprised me, I swear if I just had a photo of it you would think it was a tropical island, not main land Australia! I was only expecting red dirt and Sydney Opera house before getting here. Anyway after having dinner we made friends with a couple of girls that were also traveling our direction, we had a few beers, cards and laughs with them that night. That is until the morning when only just after I woke, about 5.50am, a bin man came to empty the bin and told us all that we shouldn't have parked there for the night and that we should move on…. "Honestly we didn't realise" just wouldn't have worked. But before we left I just had to enjoy my breakfast cereal on the beach and had a little moment of deciding how lucky we were to be traveling around the world, sod that, it's not lucky, we worked hard for this.

S: So again we all had cold showers that were provided by the local council, it's a good job its warm here, otherwise I don't think there would have been much washing going on lol. After James had eaten his cereal on the beach, the girls we had met the night before, had kindly made pancakes and bacon for everyone. That was a winner and a great start to the big day ahead.
