We found the Ikea of hotels in Mysore. They had thought of everything a traveller needs, a well kitted out room with a phone charger kit for a million models, a wonderful restaurant with sliding roof and live music every night, a swimming pool, oh and not a good thing but a small pipe attached to the rim of the toilets marked 'Jet Wash' I will stick to paper cheers.
Mysore is on the tourist trail and is setup as such, but its a picturesque place and the palace at night is lit up like blackpool (well a lot less tacky). We spent some time in the bazzar market, more time than we would have liked after getting stuck in a monsoon storm.
To escape the rain we decided to go to the cinema to watch 'Let's Dance' I would love to tell you what it was all about but I have no idea, we got locked in the cinema and watched 2hrs of a film in Indian with about 2 minutes of actual dancing and the rest filled by some shoddy acting and some crazy sound effects. I gather it was a love story which is the stpry for all inidan films.
Second day in Mysore and we decided that after asking us around 50 times if we needed a rickshaw we would accept 'Santosh' as our driver for the day, off we went visiting another palace, a few silk & essential oil shops.
On the third day we left after enjoying our 90pence endless buffet breakfast and headed out on what was to be an epic journey to Hampi
