Departure day. We caught the bus out to New Chitose airport. We were a minute or so too late for the 10.39 bus so we caught the 10.54. Was all going ok until we saw the queues for check in. A stressful 45 minute wait just to get through the bag screening, but we got through to the departure gate in plenty of time.

The flight back to Tokyo was only 1 ¾ hours then we had a couple of hours to wait for the flight to Auckland. We bought some Sake and gifts, played in the kids corner and had our "Japanese culture experience" doing some prints of Mt Fuji. A neat thing to do.

The flight home was actually pretty straightforward. Although it was quite a full flight Shane found a seat further back allowing Elsie and I to make the most of the SkyCouch and get a decent sleep. In fact, she slept all the way through til landing. Alas, Shane got no sleep at all, but better to get no sleep than have a grumpy wife and child apparently.
