Stonehenge to Plymouth
The start of our UK, Ireland and Scotland tour. Cold and Wet, wet, wet. Our first stop was Stonehenge. Just like I imagined it would be. They stand in a paddock out in the middle of no where with hundreds of people walking around them. Walking not dancing! Then onto Plymouth for the next 2 nights. Plymouth was/is a naval seaport in Devon. We had a little cruise on a boat and had a look around the harbour. There were still navy boats and a couple of submarines in it. When we finished our cruise we were over the other side of the river and landed in Cornwell. We then drove onto Penzance to view Michaels Mount. Could just see it through the misty rain. Buga. We past a working tin mine which pumps out water. Onwards to St Ives which was a very picturesque town by the sea. Had a real cornish pastie for lunch. Not overly impressed. Ours are better. For tea that night we went over to Cornwell again. On the drive home we drove beside typical Cornish coastline. Poldark Country.
