Athens
After a very long tiring flight we arrived in Athens. Exciting looking out the window of the plane. We were flying over places like Venice, Dubrovnik etc. Had a little walk around and saw the very serious guards guarding the Tomb of the unknown soldier. They go through quite a ceremony when they change position. A half day tour of Athens showed us places like the panathenic stadium which is the old Olympic stadium, the Acropolis and Pantheron, saw Hadriams Arch and visited Temple of Olympium Zeus. All fantastic. They have lovely cafes all over the place. Alot quieter than Hong Kong. About 30 degrees. Abilt like Hong Kong in the respect it doesn't look tidy but it is alright once you go in places. It looks dirty because of all the old buildings. Alot of 1 lane streets where we are. No one knows the road rules. Everyones on the wrong side of the road and they drive very fast. Haha. I don't like all the ramdom dogs over here. They just seem to be roaming with no owners in sight. Two dogs just got up and attacked a man. Ripped his trousers. They seem to just ramdomly pick on someone. We went for a walk at night and saw about 5 - 6 dogs try and take to a man going past on a bike. We didn,t walk any further, went back fairly fast to our hotel. Once more don't LIKE DOGS here at all.

Diane Todd Hello Great to get your news, So much to see !!
bruce n sue Wow...need a 'like' button for some of these pics. Some interesting sculptures you have posed with Pete...All looks like loads of fun...Wonder if you will come across 'dog' on a menu anywhere...lol
Jan Hey this is brilliant, are the locals that you come across friendly and speak English. The strike in Athens must have been just over when you arrived as the ferries hadn't been running.
