Dubrovnik
Arrived in Dubrovnik after a very early start.
Had to get up at 3.15. We are in a very flash hotel which made up for it. Having a couple quiet days which are much needed before our tour starts. The old city of Dubrovnik is a walled city. We walked around the top of the walls. Scenery was terrific No one could of got inside the walls from the outside. Views from all around of enemies coming. The walls are about 1 metre thick. Unfotunately it was bombed and alot had to be rebuilt. A very busy little tourist spot. We had a boat cruise over to a little beach and had a lovely tea. Got to meet our fellow passengers. 23 this time counting us, 4 kiwis, 5 Americans, all the rest Aussies. Drove to the Split today. Lovely coast line all the way. Sand stone buildings and orange tile roofs. Reminds us of the Greek Islands , just differeent colours, Lovely places with good little beaches all over the place. Went and visitd the Plitvicka lakes . Lovely. Little cascading waterfalls with lakes all over the place. Watched out for bears though.
