Next stop Bath! As we drove down the Main Street we were told the pretty amusing story of how Bath came about, most probably exaggerated by our obnoxious tour guide. Apparently back in the day the ancient inhabitants were scared of the hot bubbly water and wouldn't go near it. Then the Georgians thought it had healing powers so they built a beautiful town around them. Used predominantly as a holiday retreat for the wealthy quite a while until they figured out it had little to no healing properties.
We opted out of actually seeing the Roman baths.... We've all seen heaps of photos on google anyway, and spent the £15 we would have spent on admission in Primark!! Solid life choices!
By this time we were all so knackered and just meandered around the streets until it was time to get back on the coach to begin the 2hr journey back to London.
Thankfully our tour guide shut his gob for most of the so we could have a bit of much needed nappage!
