12. Sehnsucht (n.)
Origin: German
“The inconsolable longing in the human heart for we know now what”; a yearning for a far, familiar, non-earthly land one can identify as one’s home
KINKY BOOTS!!! My first West End musical.... This time! £25. Don't mind if I do! I loved the movie so pretty pumped!
Even though we had great seats, in the back row... Cough cough'... The drag makeup was bang on!! Couldn't really see anyone else but I'm sure they were all looked purdy!
It was spectacular! Reminded me a lot of Strictly Ballroom, but maybe that's just because they were both movies to begin with....
What really blew me away was the set design. It's always so interesting to see how they portray so many different locations on such a small stage. There were so really sneaky changes aswell, particularly characters walking around or through doorway and emerging in a different room or as a different person!!
Well I expected nothing less with the book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper. My musical appetite has been thoroughly drenched!
