After Fraser Island I then travelled down the east coast a little further to the Sunshine Coast; Mooloolaba. This was my favourite spot on the east coast so far. It had lovely beaches, crystal clear sea to swim in (with no crocs or sharks!) and lots of nice cafes and restaurants to relax in. The kids were learning to surf as part of school and there were lots of water sports to learn like sailing and rowing. It was a really chilled out place. The hostel I stayed in was great too, I shared a room with a German guy, and a Dutch couple who were all really friendly. I also made friends with two french guys and spent a lot of time chatting with them. One of them even said he's going to come skiing with me when I'm in France which will be nice. In the evening I had a nice walk along the beach and harbour watching the sun set. Then the next day I went to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. This was great fun and I got to touch and feed a lot of great animals. I have great photos of crocs, kangaroos, snakes, koalas, dingos, wallabies, cassowaries, Tigers, Tasmanian devils, rhinos, lizards etc. It was nice to contribute to something that is helping keep endangered species going.
