After a long 12 hour coach ride I finally arrived at Hervey Bay. It was however 5.50am and there were no buses until 7.30am. I would have waited but I was due on a tour of Fraser Island at7.20am. I had to walk what seemed an age in the heat and with my rucksacks. An hour later and incredibly sweaty I arrived at my hostel. I dumped my bags, tucked into some free brekkie and got on the coach to the ferry terminal. I then got on the barge over to Fraser. I was booked into a day tour of the island. For the first time I was officially a tourist! (All the other things we did with locals). The trip was great fun and jam packed; Fraser Island was beautiful. There are I roads, you have to drive a 4x4 on the sand tracks and at risk of getting stuck wherever you go. The main road is called a motorway and is on the beach (definitely not a motorway lol). We saw a lot of the history of the island as well as the local wildlife. I had to fight falling asleep all day as was very tired from the broken nights sleep I had on the bus. I headed back to my hostel and made friends with a girl from Israel who was getting the same bus as me the next day. We chatted all evening and then on the bus the next day. Unfortunately she got off a stop earlier than me so couldn't continue our journey together.
