So after arriving into auckland New Zealand 2 days ago, I was slightly disappointed... It was cloudy, rainy, very cold and the other travellers I met said there's not a lot to do here. I took it with a pinch of salt as different people like different things but I have to admit, there isn't much to do here and it is just another city really. It doesn't have the same atmosphere as sydney so unfortunately it's not somewhere I'd want to live. But I'm not a city girl anyway. I tried to make the most of my 2 days here, I went to the art gallery and had a free tour, walked around the Albert gardens, down the marina and also walked through the woods up to the museum. These were all quite nice but nothing too special. It seems that there are things to do outside of the city, but you either need a car to get to them or have to pay to go on a boat trip (which I was too tight to do as there's things I'd rather spend my money on further south). So all in all, I'm quite glad I leave tomorrow as I've started to get a bit bored :-/ of course, I'm still happy I'm not at work! Haha. Maybe it's good thing to have a nice quiet couple of days as I jump on my bus tour of the North Island tomorrow. It lasts between 1-2 weeks depending on whether you hop off and stay certain places or not. There are lots of activities and I'm sure I'll meet lots of new people on there so should be good! A bit of sun would be nice too!!
