Hello!
We survived the rather dull ferry ride to South Korea and arrived in a city called Busan. We have found the people a bit more friendly than in Japan and they seem to know a bit more English but we are not enjoying the food as much. We manage to order something disastrous every meal, like a meal you think would be hot is served cold. You order vegetables with rice and instead you get beef soup. We have discovered these little pancake-donut-type-things which are cooked up on the street and we have had some for breakfast most days (I have one, Matt has three).
We have done the usual sightseeing, (mainly temples) although wherever we go there are hundreds of Korean school children running around and shouting. I don't really understand how they are learning anything, I've never seen anything like it. The kids really like to say hello to us as well.
We have just arrived in Seoul and have the internet in our room (the internet speed is reminding me of the late 1990s though). We appear to have blagged some tickets to the Korean Grand Prix tomorrow on part of a US Army social trip. I can't really believe it yet so we'll see what happens tomorrow! We will be thinking of you tomorrow getting up to watch it at 6am.
Take care and keep in touch.
Love Katie and Matt xx
