Today we made our way from Venice to Lake Como. We had already purchased our train tickets but unfortunately the train we needed to catch didn't leave from the station near us. Today we ended our cruise and will be spending tonight in Venice. Got off the boat with all our luggage and managed to find our way to our hotel but only after negotiating bridges etc. The boys were pretty puffed after carrying the bags over one bridge, although Danos paid guy $10 euros to wheel his gear. Sailed most of the day, arrived later than expected in Venice about 4.15pm. We cruised in past the Grand Canal and St Marks square which was awesome. Caught a water shuttle to St Marks Square. Today we got off the ship in Civitecchio. We caught a shuttle bus to the end of the port and then walked to the train station to train it to Rome. A little confusion getting the train but then we were on our way to Termini. We then caught a metro train to the Colosseum, walked around it and then caught a cab to Trevi Fountain (named after Bails). Today Liz and I did the four hour Sorento tour. Beautiful scenery on the way but didn't take my phone so no shots for blog, We had a lovely relaxing day, Sorento is lovely we bought a few trinkets came back on the boat and had some lunch.
