How are people not morbidly obese here?!?! Every second shop is either a delicious, mouth watering chocolate shop or a waffle shop. Not to mention the countless ice-creameries! I was hoping to detox in belgium from all the bad food I've been eating lately but I don't think that is going to work.
We got into Brugge around lunch time and said goodbye to the rest of the topdeck group who kept traveling to London. It was kinda weird saying goodbye, because most of them live in Perth or not even in Australia at all so you don't know when or even if you'll ever see them again. Probably the only person I know I'll see again is Mitch, Erins new love, who'll be traveling around Spain, Greece and Croatia with her so I'm sure I'll see him at some point!
It's also good to not have to get up at 6 in the morning or have to do things at certain times and go at our own pace. I got about 10 hours sleep last night which I needed, but we still got to have a nice dinner in the square (lots of cool gothic architecture there) and walk across the town to check out the old windmills. I wanted to see them because I thought I would have seen them in the Netherlands, but there was none in Amsterdam. Plus we got to see them right on sunset so they were very pretty!
