Paros! We arrived into Paros at about 11am on Wednesday. We made our way to our hotel, Elisabeth Pension, headed to the bakery for a bite to eat and then back to the hotel for an afternoon siesta! We had every intention of having an hour nap, but it turned into 5 hours and we woke at 6pm, just in time for dinner. Dinner was at Krios, a restaurant on the beach where we enjoyed more tzatziki and then prawn spaghetti, yum! After dinner we participated in a traditional Greek activity- plate smashing and some Greek dancing! So much fun. The photo for this blog is the girls from our trip on the beach where Krios is. We then headed to a bar on the beach for a few quiet drinks before heading to bed.
Thursday was one of my favourite days in the Greek islands- Paros boat trip! We boarded the boat in the morning an set off for a trip around Antiparos. We stopped in a few beautiful spots for swim stops, and enjoyed endless wine on board in the sun. We stopped at a secluded beach and had a BBQ with traditional Greek food- chicken and pork souvlaki, Greek salad, tzatziki, and bread. To start the meal we had ouzo followed by grilled octopus. We played beach volleyball and enjoyed a swim before jumping back on the boat. Our final swim stop was in beautiful bright blue water! We headed back to Paros, got cleaned up before a few drinks at the hostel and dinner out- gyros yum! That night we wandered around town, went out for a bit and spent a bit of time on the beach too.
Next stop, Santorini!
Fun fact for the day: plate smashing is believed to rid you of your worries. You put whatever worry you may have into the plate and smash the plate, and then dance on and around the plates.
