Happiness Is The Road
I have quite a few days now with time on my hands before Jay arrives in Adelaide on January 9th. I am just going to spend the time relaxing, reading and listening to music and that's what I did today. The journey onward and around Australia properly begins again when Jay is here. I have only covered about one quarter of this wonderful country so there is still an awful lot to discover and experience In the meantime I am going to tell you a little story every day. I want to keep things interesting and fun and hope you will enjoy the stories over the coming days. With time to think I have been looking back over my life and thinking about all the funny things that have happened. I shall start with a story from when I was very little. It is one of my earliest memories.
OVER THE OCEAN - STORY 1
When I was very small my mum and dad bought me a soft toy. It was a beautiful soft cuddly rabbit and I instantly fell in love with it. It was attached to me pretty much all of the time and everywhere I went it came with me. Being very little though and not having quite got a good grasp of who was who in the animal world my little eyes thought that this lovely blue bunny rabbit was a cat and I called it Meaow!!! Anyhow one day my most beautiful mum was singing to me. I liked her singing to me, it was comforting but today the song she was singing upset me and I began crying. My mum sang 'My bonny lies over the ocean, my bonny lies over the sea, my bonny lies over the ocean, now bring back my bonny to me'. My mum was puzzled as to why I was so distraught. Was her singing that bad?? I had thought that she was singing my bunny lies over the ocean and sea! I had terrible visions in my little head of my gorgeous Meaow bunny/cat all lonely and sad in the middle of the sea and this upset me!!
