Happiness Is The Road
We had a lie in and got up late. Under door number 13 on our advent calendar was a choo choo train. After a late brekky we went to see all our animal friends. On our way to see the lambs we bumped into Barbara who asked if we would like to feed them. We very happily replied yes. The lambs were very excited to see us and they were bleating away in frantic excitement. We held a bottle each through the fence and both lambs immediately latched on and started guzzling away. It was wonderful to be feeding lambs again. After this we went to see Terry (Billy) the goat who was desperate to get at us. He went to butt Jay and she reprimanded him. This then instigated a stand off where Terry and Jay attempted to stare each other out! Jay tried to do some goat whispering again like she had done with George the goat at Invercargill but Terry just wasn't for being calmed. He really is a naughty goat but he's ever so cute and funny. We then went to see the sheep and go on the walk up to the waterfall. The sheep came running over to us and we gave them all a big cuddle. The weather was lovely and warm and we enjoyed our walk through the fields. We walked through the long grass which was abundant with dandelions, buttercups, daisies and purple flowering clover. It was beautiful. The walk then took us through the rainforest which was sticky and humid today and up to the very pretty falls. The water was cascading over the edge and looked as good as we had remembered. The sun was shining through the tree tops and casting a gorgeous and bright dappled light on the vegetation. Once back at the farm we gave the sheep another cuddle before returning to the camper van and chilling out for the rest of the day. All was good for a while until a sliding door hokey cokey commenced again. What is it with people and sliding doors? Some strange looking people in a tatty camper arrived and they opened and shut that blasted door of theirs over fifty times during the course of the afternoon and evening! We ended up going to sleep with the sound of door slamming ringing in our ears! Beam us up please Scotty!!!
