Happiness Is The Road
We had a beautiful, peaceful night and we got up late. The only noises we heard were the birds in the trees and the cows mewing in the field behind us. This camp site is very tranquil and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We like staying on farms with animals around us. They are much less trouble than people and don't give us any anti social behaviour. Yesterday the lovely lady on reception had given us a bag of food pellets for the animals so after brekky we went to find them. We first of all came across a very very cheeky billy goat. He was chained up in his field but was desperate to get to us and more importantly the food that he knew Jay had in her hands. He was a naughty goat and he wasn't satisfied with what we had given him as he tried to eat Jay's cardigan. Jay had to drag it from his mouth! Just a bit further along from the goat was Molly the pig. She was absolutely massive with a gorgeous face, huge trotters and a big silver ring through her nose. She wasn't at all interested in us until Jay shook the food bag. She then started grunting in a grumpy and impatient way until she was snorting away whilst she ate out of Jay's hands. She was a cantankerous old thing but so very cute. We then went to find the sheep who were very happy to see us. There were four of them and they came running over to the fence as soon as they saw us. They were very tame and completely lovely. We gave them some food and stroked their wonderfully soft and wooly fleeces. The farm and camp site are in a fantastic location with beautiful tree covered hills surrounding the valley. After this we went on a walk trail through land owned by the farm up to a waterfall in the forest. The walk started by us climbing over a stile into billy goat's field. We just about managed to get past him without any of our clothing being eaten. The walk took us over a few fields, through gates and over stiles until we got to the forest at the bottom of the hill from where a path led us through thick and lush vegetation and trees up to and along a stream. After a while we got to the waterfall which was a beautiful sight. The sun was shining through the trees and the sunlight was dappling the leaves in a gorgeous glow. We then made our way down through the forest and over the fields to where billy goat was waiting for us with an evil glint in his eye. Jay got slightly too close to him and he lunged out and grabbed her t shirt in his hungry mouth! We chilled out in the sunshine for the rest of the day enjoying the peace and tranquility.
