Happiness Is The Road
We got up late and still felt knackered. After brekky I telephoned Mighty as the waste pipe under our little sink was leaking. They were very good about it and arranged for us to take it to, Motek, a camper van place in a suburb called Albany just a few kilometres down the road. We found it no problem with our new robotic GPS and got an excellent service there. The two guys that saw us were brilliant and whilst we enjoyed a coffee they repaired the leak and got us back on the road very quickly. On the way back to the camp site we went to Countdown to get a bit more food and then we had a siesta, chilled out and took in the beautiful uninterrupted view we had of the sea. At about 5pm and feeling a little refreshed we went to have a mooch around Takapuna. First of all went to see Lake Pupuke which was just over the road. It is a heart shaped freshwater lake occupying a volcanic explosion crater. It is surrounded by houses, some of them very plush. Takapuna is a really lovely suburb and we had a walk through the residential streets and around to the town centre where we did a bit of window shopping before walking back to the camp site along the gorgeous beach. It is a lovely place to to start our New Zealand adventure. By now we were hungry so we went back to the campervan and got our tea. Tomorrow we are going into the city.
