Today we took a trip to Fussen, a small town a couple hours outside Munich. The town itself is very picturesque, but it's real draw are the two castles that are there. We went inside Neuschwanstein Castle, and it was incredible! Most of the castles we have seen are little more than ruins...but this one has been kept up and is gorgeous inside. Gold walls and ceilings, mosaic floors, walls that are painted to look like tapestries, hand-carved wood furniture....it really was impressive. We had to hike up to the castle, and the view from the top was great, too!
