At about 4:30am I woke feeling quite hungry so I had some banana, honey and oats which hit the spot perfectly and luckily didn't make me feel ill. I went back to sleep and woke when Fernanda had to leave; I was definitely feeling better and had not been to the bathroom once in the evening - a good sign. I took it easy in the morning; sleeping some more and drinking lots of water, green tea and honey mixes - finally feeling like my body is starting to rehydrate. Around midday I went for a bit of a walk, used the Internet and returned to Fernandas. I made some very basic chicken soup but it was very delicious and my first source of protein in a few days. I relaxed and really tried to let my body recover - something I usually can't do as I have to much energy. In the afternoon I went and met my friend Xavier (who I Couchsurfed with in the South of Chile); he is driving his VW van across all of South America and has asked me to join him in Brazil. It was really good to see Xavier and he is an absolute book of information with 5 years of traveling and nomadic living under his belt, we talked about his route through Brazil and how I might join him after Rio. Xavier is really kind and aware of my very small budget and has offered to take me north for whatever I can chip in as he would like the company. In the evening when Fernanda returned we had another of our amazing chats that leaves one energized and excited for each and every moment of my continuing journey. Fernanda brought me some Brazilian Mate as a parting gift - symbolizing Fernandas truly giving and kind nature. I am not sad to say goodbye to Fernanda as I know in my heart our friendship has just begun and our paths our bound to cross again.
OBSERVATIONS:
- Energies are all around - alive and real
- Brazilian Mate from the South - Parana
- Is anything a coincidence?
