We set early from Mount Gambier this morning and visited The Blue Lake just outside the town. It is an old volcanic crater and it is aptly called because the water is the most vivid blue in summer and the reflections can be very clearly seen. This morning we set off from Adelaide for Melbourne. We have driven virtually all day and have arrived at Mount Gambier. Now don't laugh when I tell you it has been raining but appears to be clearing up now. Most of the countryside today has been rolling fields and trees. What a lovely day! We went on a Barossa Valley wine tour and tasted a multitude of various wines. My idea of heaven. The drive was along very windy (ie bendy) roads and the countryside was rolling hills with many vineyards. They often grow the vines 'dry' here which means they water the vinesfor the first few years until the roots get very long and then they are left to themselves. Mick and I set off on our own today and drove to Adelaide city and had a stroll by the river. The River Torrens is nothing like the Swan River in Perth! Today we drove south from Adelaide and our first stop was Port Willunga but the coffee shop wasn't open so we looked at the beach and carried on to Port Noarlunga.
