Queenstown, home of crazy adrenaline activities! I have been quite sedate though, watching my frineds leap off bridges attached by only a rubber band (albeit quite a thick one) was enough excitement/terror for me!
I hadn't realised how beautiful it was around here- magestic snow capped mountains, glassy lakes, all picture postcard stuff. Much like the whole of New Zealand actually, this country really is is breath taking and looks just like the postcards :-)
Went to Milford Sound, the journey was, again, very scenic which was lucky as the bus broke down- its always nice to have a good view in these situations and it definatly beats the M6! Sadly didn't see any dolphins on the sound but said hello to my old friend the Tasman sea again.
Spent a few days in Wanaka on the way and stayed in the famous Purple Cow Hostel! Had a few very autumnal bike rides and walks around the lake, which was surrounded by yellow, red and orange trees which seems so strange in May. And of course, no visit to Wanaka would be complete without a visit to the unique cinema- with a car and sofas to sit on and freshly baked cookies during the intreval. Oh and home made icecream- Rhubard Crumble highly recommended!
