Think crystal clear turquoise water, yellow sand beaches, forest and waterfalls and you've just about summed up Abel Tasman National Park. Its beautiful, although it seems slightly unreal due to all the vibrant colours. Have done several walks around the park, bathed in Cleopatra's pool (sadly it wasn't full of milk) and bruised myself hurtling down the natural waterslide worn way in the rocks!
I am now a woman of the seals! Had an amazing seal swim, very flattering look in a full wetsuit garb complete with head cowl thing and flippers! Still, they seemed to accept me as one of thier own and I swam underwater was a few of the mothers and played next to about 20 seal pups, who were so curious and playful and not at all scared! They were beautiful with thier huge round eyes and funny snorting, swiming around on thier backs then shorting underwater with such grace and speed. Breathtaking. Sadly I couldn't smuggle one out but I shall never forget the wonderful world of the seals!
