Enid here...A 5.15am start for a perfect sunrise with Butterfly Hot Air Balloons over the most wonderful landscapes nature could dish up, the valley of love, pigeon valley, the castle, volcanoes, amazing. Finished off with the pilot landing perfectly on the trailer and the champagne served on a table set with flowers. Back to the hotel for a breakfast of omelette with some local treats. We could have stayed longer at this wonderful place but we left to explore the rest of the region and were amazed by the local guide who gave us a tour at Kaymakli, an ancient under-ground village. It was 8 levels (80 mtrs deep) housing up to 5,000 people dating back to the 2nd century, very sophisticated living arrangements. Jude and I even crawled down to the jail, a bit scary. Passed the landscape at Selime, used in the first Star Wars movie. Our destination to Konya is very different from Istanbul and Ankara, a very religious city, very busy, very big. Our boutique hotel is new and combines some of the 200 year old fixtures of the original building, lovely, we enjoyed our first real turkish kebab for dinner. Gula Gula...
