We arrived in Cape town after a beautiful drive though the wine region. Such beautiful views! Luke sadly missed the views as he fell asleep immediately but woke up when I had to get directions. I played the game of trying to keep luke upright while he was sleeping. A very fun game for me to play! We went straight to see Luke's friend that he has had for 2 years from Youtube! I had no idea that there was this Youtube community of people who got to know each other online! She said that she was very relieved to find out that we weren't some 60 year old men!
That evening after getting to know Lara, we went to find accomodation. We called up a lot of places and only mannaged to find one that had spaces as it was easter weekend! We went straight to sleep because we were so tired but there was quite a loud bar downstairs which interruped my (not luke's) sleep.
The next day we went to have a look for accomodation on Long street (the party street) and only mannaged to find one place available! We then wandered up and down long street a bit as there are so many touristy shops to see there. We then decided to be very lazy and watch a movie with pizza then sleep some more.
The next day we went to the V&A waterfront, basically a massive shopping complex where we wandered around laughing at things, bought some food for ourselves, got some easter eggs, went into woolworths!!! (very sadly no pick and mix) and bought some jumpers there, got some japanese noodles and went to look at the beautiful harbour! That evening we went to see Lara and her hillarious brother to go to the botanic garderns where there was a brillaint musician playing. We just chilled with them and a few of their friends and listened to the awesome performance. After that we went to up signal hill (a hill overlooking town) to see cape town at night. Sadly because it was too late we weren't allowed all the way up to the top but the view was spectacular and no picture could do it justice.
The following day we went to the aquarium!!!! This was so amazing! We went with Lara, Jamie her friend from england and lisa. They were so much fun and made the aquarium 100 times better!! Looking at all the nemo fish, and jellies. They're just brilliant.
After deciding to go up cable mountain for 3 days in a row and not going up we decided that we would go up at sunset and be there in time and not get there late or relise it was too late to go up. This meant we had a plan. First of all we headed to the penguin colany near cape point. This was so so cool as you got to walk in with the penguins on the beach and swim with them if you wanted to get in to the dirty water. As we were wandering around we turned around and say Sian from Jeffry's bay! This was such a brilliant supprise! She was there with two awesome german guys who were so much fun. It was so great to see her there so unexpectantly! After the penguins we went to see cape point which was in the national park. This was another amazing drive allong beautiful coastal roads. It's a supprising long way from cape town. There were a lot of tourists here! By the coach load! It was brilliant seeing all of them doing hillarious poses, ( and taking pictures of them) while climbing up the small outcrop. Such beautiul beaches along here all untouched as they're in a national park. Very amazing. We then rushed off to table mountain! We got there just in time for the last cable car up! We got up there and had an amazing viiew! I didn't think it would be this amazing! It had a birdseye view of all of cape town and all around. There are beautiful walks all around the top. While we were up there we realised that the cable car clesed before the sunset. This was a huge dissapointment as it was something we really wanted to see! Luckily however (or not) we were asked by 2 girls to take a picture of them and got talking to them. They said there was a path down the mountain that was pretty easy to do, even in the dark and they were going to do it! They then persuaded us to do it with them. After the stunning unset over the beautiful ocean, we went off searching for this path in the dark. This was a mistake. The path was so hard to find! Even with my DofE and Ten Tors training I couldn't find it! Jackie and Ellie were also very dissapinted as it was a thing they really wanted to do. This meant we had to head back to the closed down cable car... Luckily for us there was going to be a cable car going down with all the bins after they had done the mainenance in 3 hours! We then had to wait. This was fairly boring as no one had card or anything but the company was good so the time passed by quite quickly. When we finally got down. Ellie and Jackie found out we hadn't gone out on long street yet! They decided we would see the real long street. So we drove them back down and went out! Jackie and I got street food (amazing!) while luke and Ellie got Mcdonalds (eww!) and then we went to a club that was meant to be good. It wasn't. Apparetly this was the wrong night to go out on! So we wnt to other clubs and still had an amazing time. We stayed up all night partying which was really fun then said goodbye to the girls before gettting some sleep! We were exhausted! A shame we missed so much of the day sleeping but the night before was really good fun so it was worth it.
The following evening I dropped Luke off to see Lara and her friend to go out clubbing while I slept so that I wouldn't miss my fllight the following day. This was fine with me as I was quite tired anyway. Luke had a good time with them and came in late without me realising, It was very very sad to say goodbye to him the following morning! We had spent two months together travelling so much of Africa and doing so many amazing things! I had such an incredible time with him and would love to do it again with him some time. He's definately one of my closest friends.
I then headed off to the airport after sorting out some payments with the car guards then handed the car back in without incident before leaving for OZ!!!!
