Caving and rafting!
Obviously if there's a cave to explore I'm going to do it..... On top of being a really cool cave with amazing marble formations, there were, instead of bats, nocturnal birds.
Cut an paste......
"La Caverna de Los Guacharos. Guacharo in English is oilbird and is specific to the northern region of South America. These birds are nocturnal, thus their presence in the cave, and they navigate using sound, just like bats. However, unlike bats the oilbirds make a terrifyingly loud and high-pitched clicking noise which sounds pretty intense when you are in a cold, dark cave with what I roughly estimated to be about a million of them."
Thanks interweb..... Haha
Since these were the first cave birds I ever saw I was lucky enough to find a nice feather floating in the cave to keep as a souvenir!
After lunch I decided to do the rafting even though the river was less then class one rapids! The scenery was absolutely stunning and we had a good guide who messed around a lot. Near the end of the rafting we stopped at a nice spot with a rope swing and played around a bit in the water! It was a pretty great day with great weather!
