Lago de tota and playa Blanca
In the morning Claire and I moved to the other Hostel, Finca San Pedro. We got settled in and hopped on a bus to Lago de tota, the largest lake in Columbia at 3000 m with a white sand beach called Player Blanca. We got off the bus in a town called Aguitania, where we were the only gringo's visible and at any given time there were 100 people staring at us.....
So instead of catching the bus, of course we started walking with our thumbs in the air! Of course before the bus picked us up a nice Colombian couple gave us a ride to the beach!
The drive there was stunning and so was the beach! First things first we ran into the water and it was freezing as you would've expected being at 3000 m, after we set up are towels and chilled on the beach for a while. Many people passed by, and you could've sworn they never saw a white person before, because everybody wanted pictures with us...lol
After a few hours at the beach we packed up our stuff and try to go to the Hot Springs in the next town with no luck, it was a Sunday and there was an election going on so there were no buses going that direction. And not even a minute after we gave up trying to go we got a ride from a nice man back to Aguitania, where I had maybe one of the best fried chicken dinners ever, beside a lake filled with fresh fish no doubt... Hah! We hopped on the bus and headed back to the hostel.
