We arrived in Shimla after another mammoth journey, starting with a train ride where 2 army guys befriended us and made Jon drink rum with them. This made the ride quite interesting, as the two men had drunk an entire bottle before we even left the station, then proceeded to talk at us in a hindi/ english mix and take our photos, before passing out for a few hours! The journey all got a bit much when we were confronted by two awful musicians, a "female" beggar and another man, all demanding money from us. That said, it was one of the most interesting journeys yet, we travelled all day and night through the Thar desert, looking at camels. In total contrast we woke up to see mountains, and it was very cold. We then tok another bus ride and eventually arrived in Shimla, which is a small hill station, with amazing views wherever we looked.
To my horror there were more cheeky monkeys there, and these ones were even bigger than the previous lot. Still monkeys aside, we spent a very relaxing few days walking in the countryside, and watching films whilst wrapped in lots of blankets. Our final day was amusing yet again, a local man, dressed as a cowboy, decided to follow us around at a short distance. Everyone around found it very funny indeed.
After three relaxing days we were ready to leave again, fleeing the monkeys and heading further into the hills to a town called Manali.
