Jono's Travels
Up early today, 5:30 start to get showered and changed so I would make it to the bus with my bags by 6:20. I've barges up both my battery packs, my camera and Wireless Hard drive so I should be set to last me the next few days on the boats. On the bus we watched the Italian Job, seems only fitting seeing we were still in Italy, which stole our hearts. During which We also got to take in some awesome views out the windows. While typing this I've just realised that some of you guys could play drinking games while reading these... Every time I say "Awesome", "Fantastic" or "beautiful" you can drink. Now while I'm on the topic of games, after a 15 minute break we jumped onto the bus and continued on our way to Greece, as a way of killing time we had to play a game, two teams of four, we picked words out of a bag and had to describe them, after we had described the words and people had guessed the answers then next lot of rounds were guessing the same words but by only using one word, after those were all used up the third round was acting out the words, our team got our butts kicked. We arrived at the ferry terminal, scheduled to start boarding at a little after 12:30 Greek time with a scheduled departure of 2pm. Upon boarding the ferry we had to set our watches 1 hour forward. At 4pm we finally departed, I guess that's what they mean by Greek time, it'll happen when it happens. The ferry we got onto is apparently the better one of them all, with a games room, slot machines, a couple of bars and restaurants as well as even having a swimming pool, however it appears the pool itself is never actually ever filled with water... Go figure. They even do massages, we will end up spending the next 15 hours on here so we all got cabins that we will sleep in for the evening and will get woken around 6am to let us know we will be pulling into shore at about 7am, although I'm not too sure if we would really want to sleep in those beds seeing Tims' bed hadn't even had the sheets changed or made since it was last used, Tim organised that to be sorted. We headed to the top deck and enjoyed the sun after buying a drink that cost the equivalent to about NZ$12, only to find it taste just like pineapple, couldn't taste the Malibu in it at all, so no more of those drinks from there at that price. We sat by the empty pool and just continued to enjoy the sun before heading down and finding the arcade area where we could play some games. After kicking the butt of the arm wresting machine on its hardest difficulty we moved though to another bar which was a bit cheaper and was out to the way of the extreme heat. After some general chitchat and Nantes we headed off to get a feed for dinner, while overpriced it was still a pretty good feed, I got a pork shoulder roast and some chips, dessert and coke for about 22 euro (NZ $36.50). After which is guys headed upstairs and ran in Elouise and Fabian. We had a bit of a chat and then decided to head down to one of the other floors and play some cards to kill some time, we played "Kings and ********", something that only me and Fabian knew how to play, but the others picked it up pretty quickly. As we played though the night a guy started performing some songs before it turned into terrible Karaoke, we then decided that it was enough for us to leave, so we did. Elouise headed off to bed while the rest of us headed to the top deck and chilled before heading into the disco room, while it was a place for people to dance and drink, it certainly wasn't the sort of disco I would have expected, I really didn't expect it to be the majority of people in their 40's - 60's dancing away to old school Greek music... This didn't stop Ryan and Conner getting out of the dance floor and getting the applause of the older ladies.
