Hello,
We left in the morning to catch the bus to Tuy Nhon, which turned out to be quite a journey. We were the first two on the minibus, the journey was to take around 2 hours. 45 minutes later we still hadn't left the city....bit of dejavu. More and more Vietnamese were getting on until people were actually sitting on top of each other. Then we were on our way. At a count there were 34 people in a 12 seater minivan, it was madness. We also seem to be the centre of attention everywhere we go at the moment, the Vietnamese love to stare and they find us really funny without us even speaking lol.
The guy next to us spotted Jonny holding the "Vietnam" Lonely Planet book and was pointing at it, so we tried to hold a conversation with him using the phrases from our book. Obviously our pronunciation wasn't very good and we had the minibus of Vietnamese people laughing at us trying to speak the language haha. Shay then decided to get the cards out and we would have a game of rummy. The guy next to us was again interested in what we were up to and before we could even start the game he had grabbed the cards out of our hands and started shuffling them, before dealing them out and playing a game of his own haha. The guy (who we found out his name was Zoo) tried to teach us some card games that just didn't make sense at all and his explaining to us in Vietnamese just made us laugh. Overall it was a good bus journey, really friendly guys.
We arrived in Tuy Hoa and found ourselves on taxi bikes again trying to balance our backpacks on our backs at the same time. After checking into our hotel we set off to see Cham Tower, which is at the top of the tallest hill in the city. It was a nice view but sort of blocked by all the trees. There isn't much else to do here apart from see the city, so we went for some food at a resteraunt on the beach, which turned out the be an amazing meal. The Vietnamese waitress found us hilarious when we entered the resteraunt she started rubbing Shay's arm and pointing and then gave her a hug haha.
After our delicious late lunch we took a long walk along the beach before heading back to our hotel. Its really nice here, very similar to Quy Nhon, not a lot of tourists. Its a nice little stop off to break up the long journey. Its off to Nha Trang tomorrow though, back to the hussle and bussle of Vietnam.
